HUC-12 watersheds were selected from the USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) to represent those HWT designated waters that specify they included tributaries. As with the streams data, the watershed polygons may have been split, trimmed, and/or merged to fit their respective code descriptions. Polygons that represent HWT designated lakes were selected from the CDFW California Lakes dataset. To discern the separate HWT designated waters, the stream and lake polygons were erased from the watershed polygons.
