This dataset is the master vegetation layer for which all other historic vegetation is extracted from.
<purpose>This vegetation is based upon the 1992 Jones and Stokes vegetation survey for Orange County California. This dataset has since been superseded by more recent vegetation surveys, but is does form the basis for historic files with Orange County Parks GIS.</purpose>
<supplinf>The mapping and classification report for this dataset, Methods Used to Survey the Vegetation of Orange County Parks and Open Space Areas and The Irvine Company Property, is available here: http://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=99373.

The habitat description and classification system report, Habitat Classification System Natural Resources Geograpahic Information System (GIS) Project, is available here:
http://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=99370.

An updated fine-scale regional vegetation map covering 86,000 acres located in both the Central and Coastal Subregions of Orange County was completed in 2012. The vegetation map is available for download here: ftp://ftp.dfg.ca.gov/BDB/GIS/BIOS/Public_Datasets/1300_1399/ds1336.zip.</supplinf>
