The California Department of Conservation, Division of Oil and Geothermal Resources publishes a GIS feature class of facility boundary across the state. Facility boundary is an area delineating approximately any equipment ancillary for oil and gas production or injection operations that are under the jurisdiction of the Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (CCR 1760). Areas with only oil and/or gas tanks presently reside or used to reside in that area also captured as facility boundary. Using ESRI ArcGIS web application platform, DOGGR District Engineers were able to digitize facility boundary and enter its associated records directly into the GIS geodatabase repository. Data were gathered directly from Operator’s Spill Contingency Plan. As of August 8, 2018, DOGGR has approximately 3,361 facility boundaries delineated and stored in the GIS geodatabase repository. Of these, 72.5% (2436 facilities) were noted to be actively operational (in-service) facility, 7.5% (251 facilities) were idle or may temporarily not operating, and 20% (674 facilities) were noted as permanently non-operational (combined as out of service, abandoned, removed and unknown).
<purpose>California Statewide facility boundary dataset as of 5/29/2020.

5/29/20: Added 7 new facilities and updated 8 facilities' attributes.

1/15/2020: Updated 12 facilities in Southern District

9/27/2019: Modified 13 facilities in Southern district.

6/4/2019: Added a new facility polygon.

4/22/2019: Updated Southern district facility polygons and attributes that requested by Kathleen. See her change list.

1/7/2019: Identified 337 facilities that intersect 300 feet buffer of FMMP urban polygons but have not been labeled as urban facility. The attribute “UrbanFac” = “Y” is for these new identified facilities as reference for further inspection. Using “Y” is for distinguishing the facilities that had been verified as urban facilities already, i.e. “UrbanFac” = “Yes”</purpose>
