This data is a spatial depiction of California halibut trawl grounds as defined by CA FGC 8495 and CA Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 124. Both Open and Closed areas are included in the file. Sub-Area (2)(A) Point Conception to Gaviota was closed to trawling in 2008. Refer to the regulations for a detailed description of each area.
