Zoning, is used in conjunction with the General Plan, with the approval of the County Board of Supervisors to designate land use within the unincorporated areas of Ventura County.
The purpose of Zoning Ordinances is to protect and promote the public health, safety and general welfare; to provide the environmental, economic and social advantages which result from an orderly, planned use of resouces, to establish the most beneficial and convenient relationships among land uses and to implement Ventura Countys General Plan.
