This Data was downloaded 4/25/2023.***Nonindustrial Timber Management Plans (NTMPs) approved by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for landowners with less than 2,500 acres of land not primarily engaged in the manufacture of forest products. Data and feature representations contribute to assessment of cumulative effects from timber harvesting in planning watersheds and support the planning, regulation, enforcement, and oversight of commercial timber harvesting on non-federal lands in California. For more information, see Subchapter 7, Article 6.5, NTMP Administration, of the California Forest Practice Rules. For actual timber operations conducted under these plans see data set CAL FIRE Notices of Timber Operations. Data includes plans from 1991 to present.Link to the California Forest Practice Rules: https://bof.fire.ca.gov/regulations/bills-statutes-rules-and-annual-california-forest-practice-rules

(New document number format after the launch of CalTREES*)

*CalTREES (California Timber Regulations and Environmental Evaluation System) is the online timber harvest permitting system.

After the launch of CalTREES on 10/1/2018, the harvest document number format changed. The first NTMP with the new format is 1-18NTMP-00013-MEN. Under the new document number format, NTMP number is consecutively assigned statewide (no longer consecutively assigned within each region as before the launch of CalTREES). For example, 2-19NTMP-00001-PLA (the first NTMP in 2019 and the first NTMP in Region 2) was followed by 1-19NTMP-00002-HUM (the second NTMP in 2019 and the first NTMP in Region 1).

NTMP number format was also changed from 3-digit format to 5-digit format after the launch of CalTREES.
