Elkhorn Slough, Predefined zones
California Department of Fish and Wildlife Oil Spill Planning and Response (OSPR) staff are partnering with the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services personnel to create and test a Local Response Plan for the Elkhorn Slough. This geodatabase represents a first draft of data layers that may assist in an emergency response in the event of a spill occurring within Moss Landing harbor or along roads or the railroad adjacent to Elkhorn Slough.
This data layer represents polygons of Elkhorn Slough broken into a series of geographically distinct zones. These zones were defined during a meeting of ESNERR and OSPR personnel for use in establishing areas of particular ecological sensitivity with respect to hydrologic restrictions.
